Pararescue history has been made. Sgt Derek Rogers has arrived in Afghanistan. He is the first SAR Tech to operate in a Combat environment. Good luck and a safe return to Derek!

The Para Rescue Association of Canada was established in 1989 as a non-profit association of people who are or who have been in the past, members of the Search and Rescue Technician trade or the specialty known as Rescue Specialist or Para Rescue. Some of the specific purposes of the Association are to bring about the unity of all who have served or are serving in the Canadian Forces by:

* Furthering among the members, the spirit of comradeship,
mutual help and esprit-de-corps;
* Perpetuating the memory of those who are no longer with us
except in memory.

We also serve our members by producing a bi-annual newsletter
to help keep our members informed and maintaining an up-to-date
nominal role of all serving and retired members. We co-ordinate
re-unions at least once every five years.

The Association Headquarters is located in Courtenay, BC,
and is run by an elected executive.
At present we have over 400 members (including associates).
